Arthritis Awareness Month: Advocating for Yourself and Others

Dear Patients and Supporters,

Welcome to our May newsletter, dedicated to Arthritis Awareness Month. This is a crucial time for us to come together and advocate for better care, support, and access to treatments for those living with arthritis.

Recognizing Arthritis Awareness Month

Arthritis Awareness Month is observed annually in May to raise awareness about arthritis, its impact on millions of lives, and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment. Arthritis affects people of all ages and can significantly impact daily life, from mobility challenges to chronic pain. By increasing awareness, we hope to enhance understanding and support for those managing arthritis.

Advocating for Better Access to Treatments and Support

As part of Arthritis Awareness Month, we encourage everyone to advocate for improved access to treatments and support systems for arthritis patients. This can be done through various means, such as raising awareness in your community, supporting arthritis-related initiatives, and engaging with policymakers to promote better policies for arthritis care.

Highlighting Bay Arthritis’ COO, Andre Smith

We are proud to highlight the efforts of our Chief Operating Officer, Andre Smith. On May 7th, Andre represented the American College of Rheumatology’s Government Affairs Committee on Capitol Hill, advocating for Medicare patients and addressing critical issues affecting arthritis care. His dedication and commitment to improving healthcare policies for arthritis patients exemplify our mission at Bay Arthritis Institute.

Andre’s advocacy underscores the importance of engaging with policymakers to ensure that arthritis patients receive the care and support they deserve. We are honored to have Andre as a leader within our organization, working tirelessly to advance arthritis care nationally.

As we continue to observe Arthritis Awareness Month, let us all join hands in advocating for better outcomes, access, and support for arthritis patients. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those living with arthritis.

Thank you for your ongoing support and participation in our community efforts.

Warm regards,

Amir Agha, M.D., CEO, Founder
